Tributes paid to Ollie
The AGM of the local PTAA council was held in ICA House on Monday, February 13.John Dowling presided and the meeting was well attended. Present were Fr. MacNamara, PP and Fr. Dunphy, S/D of the Council. In his chairman’s address he spoke of Ollie Kelly and the wonderful dedication he had and still had to the PTAA. Fr. MacNamara also spoke of Ollie, in so far as, anything he worked at let it be counting the church money or bingo, he always gave his best and the meeting wished him well.
The centre will collect its 6th annual Gradam Award in March at the Church of St. Francis Xavier, Dublin. Michael McCrohan is wished the best of luck in the All -Ireland final of the Readoiri musical group in University College Limerick.
The treasurer’s report was compiled by Ollie and distributed to the meeting. The regional meeting will be held in the GAA Centre, Portarlington, tonight (Wednesday).

Laois Writer’s Group
There will be a free writers workshop directed by Jean O’Brien, editor of the new Laois Anthology From Margy to Slieve Bloom (available in local bookshops). It will be held in County Hall, Portlaoise, on Tuesday, March 7, from 7 to 9pm. The workshop is open to all writers.
Return To Learning

Laois farmers market is held every Friday in Centrepoint car park, Mountrath Road, Portlaoise. It is open from 9am to 3pm. A great selection of home baking, locally grown vegetables, jams, fresh meats, cheeses and delicious breads are available. So come along on Friday and support local producers.
