Play tennis this summer
Summer training for 4-6 years and 6-14 years continues on Friday
afternoons.
Training will combine matches, skills competitions and technical instruction.
A tennis and multi sport camp for 4-12 year-olds is being held next week.
This will include professional tennis coaching, co-ordination circuits and
fun team sports and competitions. If you are interested in learning to play
tennis this summer you are welcome to come along to any of the tennis club’s
activities or phone Bryan.
Summer Camp
A summer camp began on Monday July 5 at Naionra Naomh Aine, Garoon, Mountmellick and continues throughout the summer. The camp is available to children aged three to seven years, from 10 am to 3 pm, Monday to Friday. For further information please contact Mary Culleton.
Grow Group
A Grow Group meets each week in Mountmellick. If you are someone who experienced depression or anxiety attacks or who is simply in need of company do come along.
You will have an opportunity to meet others, share your problems in confidence get support and make new friends. All are welcome.
Meetings take place in the MDA, Irishtown at 3 pm every Monday. For further information please contact Harriet.
Laois Citizens Information Service
The above is in attendance every Wednesday at MDA Irishtown from 10 am to noon or else may be contacted at the Portlaoise office.
Anyone who would like help with tax, problems social welfare entitlements, heath, housing or any related problem are welcome to attend.
Juvenile Soccer: Training for all girls under 9 takes in Smith’s field on Tuesday evenings at 6 pm. All under 9 girls are welcome along.
Jazz Ballet Dance Class
The above classes are being held every Wednesday in Mountmellick Macra Hall. Under 10s from 5 pm to 6 pm and 10 years and over from 6 pm to 7 pm. Contact Michelle for details.
Presentation
A presentation to Fr Joseph Whittle on his retirement will be held in the Owenass Hall on Friday September 10 (please note change of date). Envelopes will be distributed and will also be available in St Josephs Church for any person who wishes to make a donation to the presentation.
Playschool
Busy Bees is open throughout the summer for both morning and afternoon sessions for children aged from 2 years upwards.
Ardara Hill Walking
The St. Lughnasa day walk in on Sunday, July 25. All meet in
Kinnitty Castle car park. The grade B walk begins at noon and the grade C
walk begins at 2pm. New members welcome.
Comhaltas
Mountmellick branch CCE wish to congratulate all the members who performed so well at Fleadh Laighean (Leinster Fleadh) in Graiguenamanagh. The branch’s good wishes to Mick McCann, Shane Furlong, Dearbhladh Walshe and Ruaidhri Culliton Fennell who will be participating in the All Ireland Fleadh in Clonmel in August in whistling, button accordion, flute and comhra competitions.
