Rose Winner
The Mellick Inn was packed to capacity on Friday night last for the inaugural Thorny Rose competition in Mountmellick. Eight lovelies strutted their best.

Providing some memorable entertainment. To much applause Stephen Deegan was announced the overall winner. Stephen now goes forward to the Leinster final. The organisers thanked everyone for their great support for Rehab.
M.C.S Hosts Volleyball Finals
Mountmellick Community School hosted the Cadette (Un 16) All Ireland Schools Volleyball Finals on Friday, February 8. Ten teams travelled from all over the country to contest the finals in three divisions in Boys and Girls sections. Hundreds of supporters travelled to encourage their teams with a capacity crowd of up to three hundred at times in the hall.
Organisers for the day were a team of Fourth Year students from Mountmellick

V.A.I. Officials complimented the group on their efficient organisation throughout
the day.
Local team Brigidine Mountrath turned out in style and to the delight of their supporters won the Girls Cadette C title.

- Cad. B. Girls: Skibereen beat V.E.C. Loughrea 2-1 sets.
- Cad. C. Girls: Mountrath beat Woodford 2-1 sets.
- Cad. A. Girls: Naas beat Midleton 2-1 sets.
- Cad. A. Boys: C.B.S. Naas beat Drumshanbo 2-0 sets.
