Robert Goodbody Journal
The
Robert Goodbody book was recorded by Mr Robert Goodbody and re-recorded in
1932 by O O Caughton. The book charts various events that were experienced
by Mr Goodbody between the years 1781 and 1855. Recalling such events as the
1798 rebellion, small pox, cholera, death, famine and happy times as births
and marriages.
The book has been faithful transcribed, meaning that any spelling, grammar, punctuation mistakes are also included, as to preserve authenticity.
The book it self was found in the attic of Sheanehouse by the present owner Mr Tony Lynch. Mr Lynch has kindly granted permission to Mountmellick.net to publish the material but remains the soul copyright of Mr Tony Lynch.
