Robert Goodbody Journal

Edward Tnaverner and John Goodbody who were imprisoned in the year 1671, in Philipstown be by writs of Exercerhumercato Capiendo - were kept close prisoners about 19 months and 3 weeks and for one month were put in a nasty stinlcing dungeon with two condemned itnieres (all through the cruelity of William Cardwell, jaoler) who in the time of their restraint have suffered great loss of outward things.

Ridgway descendants

Sir Thomas Ridgway (Knight) Son of Thomas Ridgway Esq. of Tormohan, Co. Devon, was employed in Ireland in a military capacity in the reign of Queen Elizabeth. In 1612 he was made baronet of England - Created Peer of Ireland May 25. 1616. As Baron of Gallen Ridgway and advanced to the Earldom of Londonderry August 23. 1622. He married Cecily, sister and co-heir of Henry MacWilliam Esq and was suceeded by his son, Sir Robert Ridgway 2nd Earl of Londonderry who married Elizabeth, daughter of Sir Simon Weston of Lichfield, and was suceeded by his son, Sir Henry Weston Ridgway, 3rd Earl, who married Martha, daughter of Sir Richard Temple (Bart) and left with several daughters, and 2 sons viz:- Robert and Thomas. Robert succeeded his father as 4th Earl of Londonderry. He married Lucy, daughter of Sir William Jobson and had two daughters viz:- Lucy and Francis, co-heireses Lucy married Arthur, 4th Earl of Donigal and died without children July 10. 1736. Francis married the Right Honerable Thomas Pitt M.P. who was created in right of his wife 5th Earl of Londonderry he died March 7th. 1713 bearing two sons Thomas & Ridgway both of whom died unmarried in 1764 when the tytte became extinct
